In the second year of the FdA Photography, students work towards a ‘Live Brief’ module which requires them to produce work for a client. The module is intended to simulate working as a freelance.
In February, as part of this module, our second year students worked collaboratively to photograph the annual literary festival for Hammond House Publishing. Ted Stanley, who as the owner of Hammond House Publishing was the client for this work, said this of the students’ work:
“These [the photographs] are amazing! The students met and then exceeded the brief, which is more than can be said from some professionals we have used. They captured the formal shots of the award presentations and the atmosphere of the festival while conducting themselves in a professional manner, passing unnoticed while they went about their task. The results have exceeded my expectations, will delight the award winners and festival guest and make a substantial contribution to our library of photographs.
“Many thanks for arranging this coverage and please pass on my grateful thanks and those of all the festival guests for documenting this important annual event”.
